Arrival & Dismissal

Can you believe school starts tomorrow?!  It is crazy how fast this summer has gone!  We can't wait to see the kiddos and hear what they have been up to.

Part of making the school year a success is getting your child to school on time!  Here is information for arrival and dismissal for the 2015-2016 school year.

Bus Routes and Other Bus Information:

Arrival to CPS in the morning:
·      - Doors will open at 8:00 for students eating breakfast, those arriving at 8:00 for breakfast need to enter through the main office doors and go directly to the cafeteria.  If your child is not eating breakfast, do not drop them off at 8:00!

·      - Doors will open at 8:15 for students not eating breakfast; this includes Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, and the main doors.  

·      - Bus Riders: the busses will arrive at CPS between 8:15 – 8:25, if a child is eating breakfast they need to exit the bus and go directly to the cafeteria.

·     -  Bus riders not eating breakfast will remain on the bus or in the main lobby until 8:20 to be released to go to their classroom.

·      All Students will be allowed to go to their classroom at 8:20.

·     - NO CARS should enter the front drive between 8:10 – 8:45 due to busses.

·    -   If you drop off your child use the back drive, please do NOT park in either lane and exit your vehicle.  As you use the back drive, the right lane is for drop off and the left lane is for thru traffic – please do NOT block the left lane.  Please enter the back drive using the left lane and merge into the right lane when you arrive to the door needed for drop off, and then merge carefully back into the left lane to exit.

·      - If you drop off your child and need to exit your vehicle, please park in the West or North parking lot – do NOT exit your vehicle in the drop off lanes.

·      - The first bell will ring at 8:30, the tardy bell will ring at 8:35.  If your child arrives after 8:35, your child must check in at the attendance office.

·      - Breakfast is served from 8:00 – 8:40.  If your child arrives after 8:40, breakfast will not be available.  Breakfast is not served on 2 hour delays.

Dismissal of CPS in the afternoon:
·      - Students will be dismissed at 3:20 for walkers and car riders.  The bus riders will be dismissed in 2 rounds, the first round at 3:15 and the second round at 3:20. 

·      - If you are picking your child up from school, please use the back drive.  Please do not arrive  earlier than 3:00 due to recess.

·      - NO CARS should enter the front drive between 3:00 – 3:40 due to busses entering the circle drive.

·      - If you pick up your child use the back drive, please do NOT park in either lane and exit your vehicle.  As you use the back drive, the right lane is for drop off and the left lane is for thru traffic – please do NOT block the left lane.  Please enter the back drive using the left lane and merge into the right lane when you arrive to the door needed for drop off, and then merge carefully back into the left lane to exit.

·      - If you pick up your child and need to exit your vehicle, please park in the West or North parking lot – do NOT exit your vehicle in the drop off lanes.

·      - Students being picked up will be released from their grade level doors.

Additional Information:
·      - Please remember to drive slowly and carefully through the back drive.

·      - Please do NOT use your cell phone while driving on school property.

·      - On the first day of school, parents may walk their child to his/her classroom.  Parents will need to park in the parking lot.  After the first day, we ask that parents allow children to enter the building on their own.  There will be staff members in the hallways assisting children to their classroom.

Welcome Back 2015-2016

Welcome to the 2015-2016 School Year at Celina Primary School!  
We are so excited to get the year started!  

We would like to welcome our new staff members; Mrs. Amanda Stucke (1st grade) and Mrs. Heather Siefring (2nd grade)!


Here are a few reminders to get everyone ready to get back to school:

Class Lists:  posted on Friday, August 7 on the front doors of CPS.  The lists will not be posted online, and please do not take pictures and post the lists on social media.

Folder Pick Up: August 17 - August 21 (7:00am - 2:00 pm) at CPS office for all CPS students.
For confidentiality reasons, we ask the parents/guardians pick up their child's folder.  If someone else needs to pick up your child's folder, please call the school or send a note with your permission.

Book Fees:  For grades K-2, book fees are $75/child.  You can pay your child's fees when picking up your child's folder August 17 - 21.

First Day of School: Tuesday, August 25.....this is for 1st & 2nd grade only!

Start & End Times:
 - Breakfast begins at 8:00, please do not drop your child off at 8:00 unless they are eating breakfast
 - Enter building at 8:15, for children not eating breakfast
 - School starts at 8:30
 - Dismissal at 3:15, bus riders will be dismissed at 3:15 with walkers/car riders following   (approximately 3:20)
- If you will be picking up your child, please have arrangements to have your child picked up NO LATER than 3:30

*** We allow for parents to walk their child to their classroom for the first week, but ask for your understanding to have your child walk in independently after that.  We need to be able to monitor who is in/out of the building for safety purposes....thank you in advance for your cooperation!

Kindergarten Orientation: Tuesday, August 25.....for incoming kindergarten students, you should have received a letter in the mail stating your orientation time and Green/White group.  If you do not have this letter, please call CPS office.  Orientation is for the incoming kindergarten student and parent(s)/guardian(s).

Back to School Night: Wednesday, August 26 (5:00 - 6:00)

Kindergarten Green Group: Kindergarten students assigned to the GREEN group will attend Wednesday, August 26, Friday, August 28, and Tuesday, September 1

Kindergarten White Group: Kindergarten students assigned to the WHITE group will attend Thursday, August 27, Monday, August 31, and Wednesday, September 2

ALL Kindergarten: all Kindergarten students will begin to attend daily on Thursday, September 3

Labor Day: No School, Monday, September 7
